I have several Years of Design experience behind me. I specialise in Print Design, including Corporate Identity and Advertising. Also such things as Newsletters, Brochures, Bookcovers, CD cover and Disk Design and Magazines. Anything that requires print. I have a passion for Art, and paint on mainly Canvas. Working with texture, layering of paint and using a variety of materials. So this is a quality I use from time to time in My Design work, but only if suited to the clients brief.

Publicist work in the arts sector followed journalism school. Copywriting combines all the skills learned in her years as a dilettante: distilling the essence of a message, brand or product to the poetry of sales.

DIRECTOR
GARY AUBIN’S BACKGROUND

I started out life in the UK until 1980, when I was shipped out to Godzone to begin my life as a Kiwi. I lived in sunny Nelson until my late teens, spending my days listening to depeche mode and enjoying Trumpets on the beach with Rachel.

I started out my design life back when Super Mario was a cowboy, investing in a my PC General P1 beast! – my very first PC. The "General" took me through Otago University & Polytechnic studies where I skilled myself in Multi media & desktop publishing, video postproduction, audio production and interactive design.

Things started small – I worked with a number business's on various design projects. By 1996, I had landed a role in multimedia development with US-based Trimble Navigation. I worked with a very talented bunch of people who lead the field, covering all aspects of media design – from authoring, print design, audio and video production, to web-based interactive media.

In 2002, an offer came my way for the role of Creative Director at a well-known New Zealand software company. I took on the challenge and went on to become a part of its success story, providing in-house creative for some big-budget marketing initiatives around the world.

Following a short time contracting, in 2006 I took on a two year tenure at design firm G&A Nelson, working as Creative Director.

Which brings us to today. After a 6 offshore tenure in Hong Kong directing a product launch for a key Hong Kong client we are now a fully fledged Wellington based design agency with a team of 6 talented profesionals, comprising of designers, copywriters, web developers and administration, working with some great people, here in NZ and abroad. If you think we could help with your next endeavour, get in touch!!
